With over 10 years of experience in marketing communications strategy, Dena manages the agency’s inbound marketing, content creation, and social media initiatives. She has a passion for storytelling and assists clients in proactively developing unique, valuable and engaging content.
To give you a little more insight into Dena’s personality and work life, we put her on the spot and asked her to answer our infamous 5 questions.
What aspect of your workspace is the biggest conversation starter?
Usually my Disney quotes. I am a HUGE Disney fan and have some desk quotes and a notebook with a quote by Walt Disney: “If you can dream it, you can do it.” It’s pretty much my mantra.
What 5 things could you not live without during your workday?
1) My notebook
2) Post-it notes, and more Post-it notes!
3) Fun coworkers in a creative space.
4) Snacks. I can’t focus when I’m “hangry.”
5) Technology: my phone and computer.
How do you stay organized? Are you an app user or an old-fashioned list-maker? (Or something else altogether?)
I am a list-maker. I even tried an app that allowed me to make electronic lists and it was a fail. Something about a post-it note is so simple, and an easy, visual reminder of tasks and deadlines.
What object in your office always makes you smile or feel inspired?
My kids’ art. I love the creative ways they express themselves. It reminds me that even though they are learning, they have unique natural talents and abilities that can’t necessarily be taught. I try and apply that same thinking when I am stuck on a project or not feeling very creative.
Favorite spot in Durham right now?
I don’t have one yet, since I don’t know too much about the area. If I had to pick one, it would be DPAC, because that’s really all I know!
