Founded by Bill Spruill and Charles Gaddy in 2012, Global Data Consortium (GDC), is a cloud-based platform for global electronic identity verification. Headquartered in Raleigh, NC, the GDC platform allows businesses to access high-quality, local data mined from over 300-plus sources and data partners, enabling business to determine a customer’s true identity so transactions can occur in real time.

Challenge:  Method Savvy not only had to understand the industry, competitive market, and internal context of the GDC brand, but also clarify and expand the brand identity, site architecture, develop positioning and high-level messaging. The challenge was to to grow public perception and re-position GDC at an enterprise level, which would ultimately lead to their acquisition by the London Stock Exchange Group in 2022.

Solution: Method Savvy deconstructed the legacy brand, mission, and vision through Accelerator Workshops to then realign key messaging, positioning, and archetypes to a new, modern, design system reflecting their overall identity. The resulting website was robust, yet flexible, extensible, and positioned GDC as a thought leader in the eIDV and BIV space. Equipped with years of experience, unprecedented growth, and an enterprise-level design system, GDC was launched onto a new playing field in the global IDV space.

Shortly after the Method Savvy rebrand and launch of the new GDC identity, the UK-based London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) acquired GDC into their Data and Analytics Division for $300 million, one of the largest private deals to come out of the Triangle in recent years.
